We visited on Saturday 14th June for dinner. We had 4 adults and 3 children in our party. On arrival we had to wait for a table as it was busy. We got some drinks and sat in the garden waiting. In a short time our table was ready. The food was ok. The crackerjack prawns I had for starter was nice, the steak was fine, the chips less so, and I left most of that on my plate. The children enjoyed their make your own chicken wraps, and ice-cream sundae. We all enjoyed the salad bar; I think that’s the best feature of a Harvester.
The place looks tired; it could do with a good clean, or even better: a refurbishment. However I expect as the place is busy, Harvester is saving their money, and the customers come second to profit. The service was fine; however the place could do with more waiting staff as they were very busy and seemed to work on auto pilot, with very little interaction with the guests.
I would only recommend it as an average place, ok for a quick meal, but if you want something special I would find a different place to visit.
