Is there a more dreamy and perfect time of year than summer. Don’t get us wrong, we’re a big fan of having seasons. We love getting all snuggled up in the winter months, embracing all thing hygge. We love seeing the flowers start to bloom and there are no colors that can keep place with fallen autumn leaves. But when summer is full flow, wow, there is nothing like it.
The days are long, moods are lifted, foods tastes better, we are more sociable and faces are friendly. Summer just brings a gorgeous buzz with it. The question is, how do you make sure your home catches this buzz and becomes totally summer ready?
Well, read on for our top tips:
Invite The Sunshine Into your Home
Making your home totally fit for summer needs nothing more than quick run around your home, extinguishing anything that evokes heat. Think throws, logs, heaters, candles, rugs, draperies; all of that sort of stuff. Instead, what you want to do is replace it with all things summer. Fresh flowers, bright and light blankets, bright artwork, cleaned and polished windows. Everything that will help catch the rays of summer needs to be thought about.
Your Favourite Room Should Be You Decking
Summer’s seem to come and go quicker than ever, so make the most of your outdoor space. Clean the decking, get some beautiful and comfortable outdoor furniture, and a hammock, maybe even a chandelier to hang from the tressels. Trim the bushes, install a fire pit or a pizza oven, and have some outdoor speakers installed. The more you can do to tempt yourself to enjoy your sunny summers days the better because, well, we can resist everything in life except for temptation.
Time To Restock Your Freezer
It is a once a year job, but defrost your freezer and then go through everything that is in there. Sure, that Christmas stew you made and froze is bound to be tasty, but it doesn’t exactly ooze summer vibes does it. So, think about what your kids would want in there and run with that. We’re talking epic desserts, we’re talking ice-cream, popsicles, burgers, sausages, chicken, kebabs, and lots of ice-cubes. This is summer we’re talking about so fill your freezer with summery foods. It’s barbecue seasons.
Be The Hostess With Mostess
The winter is great because it is so sociable. Everyone is having parties, but the big difference here is that a winter do is organized. Invites go out and a preparation period gets acknowledge. Summer doesn’t offer you this liberty. You’ve just got to be ready for a spontaneous get-together. Start with the kids by having a garage stocked with outdoor games they can play; massive connect four, badminton, slip n’ slide, epic inflatables for the (paddling) pool. Anything that will keep them outside and burning energy, that’s the trick. As for the adults, dust off that blender and start working on your mojito recipe and your canape arsenal. Then make sure you have enough coals or gas for the barbecue, you know, just in case.
